I was so excited to work with Community Development Action Hertfordshire and Healthwatch Hertfordshire to illustrate events in Stevenage, Harlow and Watford . These were designed to enable marginalised communities to access NHS services better alongside celebrating their diversity and culture.
The project involved, "Live" Illustration captured in the moment ( I also got a lot of help with the colouring from the children and YP present). I also turned the questionnaire data from Healthwatch Hertfordshire into easily digestible visuals that answered the key questions and themes. Accompanying each of the events was a set of large scale posters that showcased Healthy Ageing, Access to Services, Total Wellbeing and Heart Health.
Each event was comprised of stands, local businesses and performances so there was a vast array of activities and information.
It always feels important to capture lived experience as a tool to improve services and understand the barriers to accessibility. I hope you enjoy seeing the themes brought to life through these illustrations.
Colouring Pages inspired by the event. Please share the results on my social media @studiobeci Enjoy!
